at the zoo

We only live about 10 minutes from the LA Zoo so it’s a little sad that we’ve only been there once since moving to Glendale two years ago. I blame the crowds and particularly the hot weather, but am still ashamed to admit our lack of attendance especially with a 20 month old. So on saturday morning, gray skies and all (which i prefer), we went to the zoo. We had a great time and ended up buying a family membership. Tyler almost seemed more fascinated by each animal’s water source (the waterfall in the chimpanzee exhibit, the hippo lying in a pool of water, etc) but also loved the pink flamingos, lions, elephant and giraffes. Talk about a workout though – It was a constant cycle of in the stroller, out of the stroller, in the stroller, running, walking, holding, on dad’s shoulders, repeat…

  • Ah, the zoo. What would we do without the zoo? I think the membership will come in handy.
I hear you about the interest in water. With us, it’s POURING which is particularly fascinating. But water in general is a constant source of fascination…

  • hey! i can’t believe you didn’t wait until I came to go to the zoo! :’( haha.
